“We have to stay calm and remember we’ve got the solid foundations. We need to work well during the week to achieve a victory that can boost confidence.

“During a campaign you can’t always have the same players. As far as I am concerned, I want to relax the players and let them grow so they can make the best decisions on the field. At the end of the day we can only win by playing good football.

“At the moment the transfer window is disturbing some players and others are absent. A change of system would cause further difficulties, as I am working slowly to find variations without causing confusion.”

Rossi was introduced during the second half, despite Sousa hinting this week that highly motivated Pepito could start.

“He basically did not play for two years. We worked to ensure he never had to skip a training session. We are giving him the opportunity to compete. We are proud of the work we’ve done with him.”
