Paulo Sousa said Fiorentina’s Scudetto “is recognition, as we want to play happy and positive football in every match.”
The Tuscans are top of the table alongside Inter, with a superior head-to-head record, after this evening’s 2-0 win away to Sampdoria.
“I am happy because it is super-difficult to play here and the lads had great emotional control,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

The Tuscans are top of the table alongside Inter, with a superior head-to-head record, after this evening’s 2-0 win away to Sampdoria.
“I am happy because it is super-difficult to play here and the lads had great emotional control,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
“We controlled the game with our principles of football and turned that into goals. I am happy that Walter Zenga had a great start and created a competitive squad that can challenge the top clubs.
“From the start I made sure the lads realised they are all important. We have great support and the more the fans fire us up, the stronger we’ll be.”
Can Fiorentina genuinely win the Scudetto this season when in recent years they haven’t got into the Champions League?
“We want to compete with all our weapons, with our principles of football. The best Scudetto is reaching the end of the season with recognition from everyone, including fans and opponents.
“We really want to play happy and positive football, to win every match with that attitude.”
Inter started the campaign targeting the title, so will they emerge in the long-run?
“Inter invested a great deal and I think they will invest even more in January. They have players of great quality and maturity.
“We just want to enjoy our football and win, because that is what we’re working for.”
