The Viola were swept aside 3-0 at White Hart Lane after a 1-1 first leg stalemate.

“I am very disappointed, but we are aware this competition gets tougher as it goes on and Tottenham play very good football,” said the Coach in a Press conference.

“We allowed our opponents too much of the ball and they dominated us after the second goal. We were in the game and the tie up until Erik Lamela’s goal, which really knocked the wind out of us.

“Over the 180 minutes we could’ve had more from this tie, especially in Florence. Now we have to recover to put in a good performance against Napoli on Monday.

“We require a show of pride, just as our fans did tonight in London. We need to give consistency to what we are doing, as we believe in our project and this way will gain that winning culture and mentality we’ve been looking for since the start of the season.”
