Salernitana coach Paulo Sousa called Milan midfielder Yacine Adli ‘super creative’ and pushed for him to receive more minutes.

The 23-year-old French midfielder started in the Rossoneri’s 3-1 win over Cagliari, playing 58 minutes as a defensive midfielder before he was taken off by Stefano Pioli. The coach praised him after the match and suggested that he could feature in that role again in the coming games.

Adli hardly appeared for Milan in his debut season but is now pushing to carve out a spot for himself in the squad, having already made 104 first team appearances for Bordeaux before his move to Italy, some of which were under Sousa.

Speaking in a press conference via Calciomercato.com, Sousa had high praise for Adli and called for him to receive more playing time with Milan.

“We always liked each other a lot, an extraordinary guy, super creative. An exemplary worker, for me the new Zinedine Zidane for his technical qualities. He needs consistency.”

The recent injured suffered by Rade Krunic will likely give Adli more chances to feature for Milan in their coming games.
