Matias Soule is wanted by both the Italy and Argentina national teams, and the Juventus owned talent has made his decision.
The 20-year-old left Turin to join Frosinone on loan in the summer and he’s hit the ground running with his new club, scoring five goals and providing one assist in his first eight league games this term.
Juventus are seemingly starting to regret sending Soule away on loan and recent reports suggested that they’re considering recalling him from Frosinone in January, adding an exciting option to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.
Last month, Italy coach Luciano Spalletti confirmed that they were keeping a close eye on Soule and Argentina have also been keen to hand the talented 20-year-old a call-up. The winger is eligible for both nations.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset via TMW after Frosinone’s Coppa Italia win over Torino, Soule was first asked about the idea of returning to Juventus in January.
“I’ve read something, but I don’t think about anything. I have my focus here on Frosinone, we play every three days and that doesn’t let me think too much, but I don’t want to either because I don’t know if I’ll be back in January, but June is a long time away, so I’m calm.”
The 20-year-old then confirmed which national team he’d like to represent in his career.
“I spoke to Spalletti, I told him the truth, which was that I felt Argentinian. I thanked him because he wanted me, then I also spoke to Walter Samuel, who told me I was given a provisional call-up.
“I’m waiting for Argentina, I don’t know if it will come now or later, but I’m Argentine, I was born there, and my heart always says Argentina.”
