Several reports in Italy claim Matias Soulé is ‘close’ to joining Roma from Juventus, but the Giallorossi will need a third offer to convince the Bianconeri.

Roma are close to signing Juventus winger Matias Soulé, according to all Italian sports papers.

The Giallorossi made a second offer close to €30m on Monday, and although it was still not enough for the Old Lady, Gazzetta, Tuttosport, and Corriere dello Sport believe that Juventus and Roma will shake hands soon.

Juventus’ asking price is close to €35m, but a new bid exceeding €30m, including add-ons, will probably convince Cristiano Giuntoli to sell the Argentinean winger, especially because Soulé has prioritised a move to Roma over Leicester City and West Ham.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Juventus haven’t yet formally rejected Roma’s latest bid so the Giallorossi expect a reply today. The Rome-based paper insists that the Giallorossi are leading the race to sign Soulé and that West Ham haven’t yet sent a formal bid to Juventus.

Gazzetta and Tuttosport, however, report that the Bianconeri are waiting for Roma to make a slightly improved offer. As per Tuttosport, Giuntoli is also pushing to include a sell-on clause in the deal.
