“My model is certainly Juan Sebastian Veron,” Sosa told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “He was a fabulous player, at Estudiantes and beyond. He's the highest possible example for that position.
“To be a playmaker you need to have a great personality, always make the right decision and understand whether to build or to slow down. He was fantastic.
“The problem of being a playmaker is tactical. In that particular position you must always be ready, whether in possession or out of it. You must receive the ball when constructing play, and have the strength to go take it and try something.
“I was used to playing in a more offensive position, where I could always attack. Here I've got to be more careful, wait for the right moment to decide whether to stay forward or behind. I'm discussing this with Coach [Vincenzo] Montella.
“Having a strong technique is helpful, but character is most important in order to handle the ball and be responsible for the take-off of all plays.”
Sosa has already been given some playing time in Milan's friendly against Bournemouth.
“I'm happy with it, I was feeling well. It's an honour to play for Milan, even if it's just in a friendly. I must improve my condition and the 90' played together were certainly helpful.
“I'm having some trials in front of the defence, but we all know that I can play in all three positions in the midfield.
“My preference? Let's see how the weekly work goes, it'll be the Coach's decision. I'm working day by day to understand what the team really needs.”
