Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino admits he still dreams of winning international honours with Italy.

“I’m happy with the way that I am performing in Serie A this season,” he told Radio Sportiva in an interview.

“I want to keep experiencing satisfying moments right up until the end of the campaign,” he continued.

“I still hope in getting a call-up to the Italian international squad, although I have to admit that I’ve not been contacted by anybody.

“I’m calm though and focused on always giving my best.”

Sorrentino, who has been at Chievo since 2008, is now 32 and has yet to receive a call-up to the Giro Azzurro.

Italy boss Cesare Prandelli picked four ‘keepers for last week’s international friendly loss to America – Gigi Buffon [Juventus], Morgan De Sanctis [Napoli], Salvatore Sirigu [Paris SG] and Emiliano Viviano [Palermo].
