Roberto Soriano is on the verge of leaving Torino after just six months and has chosen Bologna rather than Cagliari or Fiorentina.

According to multiple reports, a move to the Stadio Dall’Ara will be finalised once the transfer window opens in January.

The 27-year-old joined Toro on loan from Villarreal for €1m with option to buy for another €14m, but failed to make an impact.

He managed one goal and two assists in 12 appearances between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, but has been benched for six games in a row.

Cagliari and Fiorentina had also shown interest, but Soriano seems to have made his decision to join relegation strugglers Bologna.

It’s believed Bologna will take over the deal with Villarreal, so maintain an option to buy for €14m.
