Yann Sommer admits Inter ‘changed’ in the second half and is happy to have contributed to a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad with a great save.

The Swiss international kept the Nerazzurri in the game in the second half by denying Mikel Oyarzabal’s header from a corner minutes before Lautaro Martinez’s equaliser.

“It was important in that situation,” Sommer told Amazon Prime Video Italia.

“They had chances to score more goals and it would have been difficult if they had scored one more, but I am happy it went like this and I am happy with how we changed the game in the second half.

“We started to play better, we had more quality with the ball and we were calmer. We had missed it a little bit in the first half.

“I am really happy with this point because the first half was really bad and we were not into the game, but in the second half, we had some situations,” continued the Swiss international.

“This is the Champions League, so we take this point and we have to correct something for the next one.

“I think tonight, in a difficult game, we showed that this team has a lot of character and that we are a big squad. The players who came in have quality, they created good situations and I am happy to be here.”
