Inter need a win against Shakhtar, but the Ukrainians are still fighting for a place in the last 16 themselves.
Group B is completely open before the last round of fixtures and Solomon said this year’s edition has ‘taught’ them that anything is possible.
“This Champions League group has taught us that nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible,” Solomon told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Now we want to at least draw the game.”
The first leg in Ukraine ended in a goalless draw and Solomon said it was harder when the two sides met in the semi-finals of the Europa League last term – a game that ended with a 5-0 win for the Nerazzurri in Düsseldorf, Germany.
“It was less difficult than the Europa League semi-final, but still tiring,” Solomon added. “Usually, we are good at carrying the ball, but they push.
“And they have a great defensive system.”
And Solomon admitted Shakhtar are wary of Romelu Lukaku, who has scored 12 goals in 13 competitive games for Inter this term.
“We will do everything to stop Lukaku,” he continued. “He’s a beast, a monster. If he’s in the mood, he’s unstoppable.
“And he is underrated too. He should be considered among the greatest in his role. When Inter signed him, I wondered why Manchester United would give up someone like this.”
