Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ agent believes that there is nothing surprising in his client’s recent transfer links with Juventus.
The Greek international generally struggled in his first spell in Serie A, whilst at Milan and then Genoa, whilst last season saw him loaned out to Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen.
This week, however, have seen rumours of an immediate return to Italy, despite his German employers having only just made permanent his move from the Grifone.
Reports suggest that Juventus are interested in the 24-year-old and would be open to his inclusion in any offer Werder are said to be preparing for wantaway winger Eljero Elia.
“That the Bianconeri are interested does not surprise me,” Nikolaos Klitsidis told calciomercato.com this Friday.
“He’s a young player who knows his football and is able to play both in defences of a back three and back four.
“But, Juve are not the only club interested. Also, he is not the only defender Juve are looking at.
“The player is fine in Bremen and it seems strange that after redeeming him from Genoa that Werder already wants to sell him, but in football anything can happen.”
