Juventus beat Milian on penalties in their first pre-season game of the summer during the Soccer Champions Tour fixture at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles in the early hours of Friday morning.

The two sides had been level at 2-2 at the end of regular time, before an entertaining set of penalties settled the scores in Juventus’ favour.

Malick Thiaw’s header opened the scoring in California, before Danilo levelled for the Bianconeri, stabbing home following a chaotic corner routine. Olivier Giroud put Milan back in front six minutes later, only for Daniele Rugani to equalise, again from a set-piece, three minutes after half-time.

Penalties then came directly after the full-time whistle, with Matias Soule’s spot-kick sealing the win for Juve in sudden-death.
