Roma centre-back Chris Smalling will be out for three weeks with a thigh injury, and will thus miss the next three games against Juventus, Bodo/Glimt and Napoli.
The English defender has only played four times in Serie A this term after missing the first four games due to a hamstring injury.
Smalling has played twice in the Europa Conference League and scored in the 3-0 win over Zorya on September 30.
The Giallorossi started his first Serie A game in the 2-0 win over Empoli last time but has suffered a right thigh flexor injury and will be out for at least three weeks.
PagineRomaniste reports the Giallorossi have confirmed he will not be in the squad for the next three games, thus missing the big games against Juventus and Napoli in Serie A.
Smalling spent 2019-20 on loan at Roma and convinced the Giallorossi to sign him on a permanent deal worth €15m in October 2020.
The 31-year-old has played 64 competitive games with La Lupa and has struggled with a series of injuries since he made his move permanent.
The former Manchester United centre-back missed 30 games last term due to injuries and has already missed four games so far this term.
