Roma must cope without Chris Smalling until the end of November, as he reportedly aims to be back after the next international break.

The former England international has been out since the beginning of October, when he started treating an injury to the right thigh.

Smalling, who arrived at Roma, initially on loan in 2019, has struggled with injuries ever since completing the move from Manchester United the following year.

He signed a deal until June 2023, but has only played 20 games since making the move permanent, including four times in 2021-22.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims the player continues his recovery from the injury he sustained against Empoli at the start of the month.

The 31-year-old continues to work separately and will do so in the following weeks, as the target is to have him back for Genoa vs. Roma on November 21.

That’s the first match after the players return from the international break next month.
