According to Sportmediaset, Chelsea scouted Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners in La Dea’s 3-0 win over Liverpool on Thursday and are preparing a €60m offer for the Dutch midfielder.

Sportmediaset report Chelsea are preparing a €60m bid for Atalanta midfielder Koopmeiners, scorer of 13 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions this season.

The Dutch midfielder has been linked with several Italian and European clubs, including Juventus, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United but according to the Italian broadcasters, the Blues are also in the race for the 26-year-old.

Chelsea scouted Koopmeiners

Chelsea scouts watched Koopmeiners in action this past Thursday in Atalanta’s 3-0 win over Liverpool in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Koopmeiners’ contract at the Gewiss Stadium expires in June 2027, but the Netherlands international announced in March that he’d leave Bergamo at the end of the season.

Multiple Italian media claim Koopomeiners is Juventus’ primary target to strengthen their midfield in the 2024-25 campaign.

Koopmeiners has 27 goals and 12 appearances in 116 games with Atalanta.

Koopmeiners said he’d leave Atalanta

During the international break in March, Koopmeiners said:

“I told Atalanta I want to leave in the summer.

“Last season, there was concrete interest from Napoli, but the two clubs didn’t reach an agreement. I hope there will be options to consider this year. My girlfriend and I are enjoying Italy, but I would endure rain for some clubs in England.

“I’d lie if I said I have no news of interest from Juventus and Premier League clubs. I read the news, too. I’ve had an amazing time at Atalanta and I hope they will get a big sum.”
