Sky Sport Italia reports Roma want to reach an agreement with Atalanta and Duvan Zapata within 48 hours otherwise they’ll work on different targets, while Romelu Lukaku can only move to the Stadio Olimpico on loan.

Tiago Pinto is working to bring a new striker to the capital but is running out of time with only nine days left before the end of the summer transfer window.

Atalanta’s Zapata is Roma’s priority, but according to Sky Sport Italia, there is still no agreement between the three parties involved. The Giallorossi have reportedly set a deadline to purchase the Colombian striker; if they don’t complete his signature within 48 hours, they’ll look for a different target. So, who could the Giallorossi sign instead?

There have been reports of a possible meeting between CEO Lina Souloukou and Chelsea directors in London regarding Lukaku, but according to Sky Sport, there are no negotiations ongoing between the two clubs.

The Blues have set their asking price at €40m, a fee the Giallorossi can’t afford. However, if Chelsea decide to loan out Lukaku in the last few days of the summer transfer window, Roma will likely make an attempt to bring him to the capital, unless they sign Zapata first.
