Sky’s announcement comes on the same day that the Court of Milan stripped Mediapro of its tender for the 2018-21 rights after a legal challenge from the London-based broadcaster.

“The Court of Milan’s decision confirmed that a verification of compliance was necessary for Mediapro’s tender, giving clarity to all the participants and creating prerequisites for the definition of the procedure for assigning the 2018-21 Serie A rights,” read a statement.

"We are ready, like always, to do our bit with an important offer, which can give assurances to every fan and, at the same time, safeguard the future of clubs and the entire system.”
