According to Sky Sport Italia, Cristian Romero’s move to Tottenham is a done deal.

According to the Italian broadcasters, the North London club and Atalanta have reached an agreement over the player’s transfer fee and Romero could leave for London this evening.

Spurs will reportedly pay €55m, including bonuses, to secure the services of the Argentinean centre-back, who has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League giants.

Romero was pushing to join Tottenham and, on Monday, he reportedly told Gian Piero Gasperini he wanted to move to North London in the summer.

Romero will sign a five-year deal with Tottenham.

Atalanta are also close to reaching an agreement with Juventus for Merih Demiral, who should move to Bergamo on loan with an option to buy.

Romero had joined Atalanta from Juventus on an initial two-year loan with an option to buy for €16m.

He was named best Serie A defender in the 2020-21 campaign.
