Parma are reportedly trying to bring Gianluigi Buffon back to the Ennio Tardini, hoping the veteran wants to finish his career where it all began.

The former Crociati youth player has turned 43 and leaves Juventus 20 years after having moved from Parma to Turin.

He spent one season at Paris Saint-Germain in 2018-19 but returned to the Allianz Stadium and has spent the last two years as back-up for Wojciech Szczesny.

Buffon told GQ that he would only play for Juventus and Parma in Italy and Sky Sport Italia claims the latter are now trying to convince him of returning to help the club bounce back immediately.

Parma were relegated from Serie A this season and have appointed Enzo Maresca as their new head-coach.

Maresca and Buffon were teammates at the Bianconeri and the Ducali are pushing to convince the World Cup winner to return and end his career where it started.

But the report claims there are also many offers from abroad and highlights Olympiacos from Greece and two clubs in Brazil that are not mentioned by name.

Buffon did admit that if he doesn’t find an offer that motivates him, he could end up retiring from football, but the broadcaster points out that there are many clubs who are pushing for him to continue.
