Sky: Milan target Frattesi and Chelsea duo with money from Tonali’s sale to Newcastle

As Sandro Tonali moves closer towards a record-breaking move away from Milan following a concrete offer from Premier League Newcastle, Sky Sport Italia suggests that the Rossoneri are already considering a list of players they could bring in as potential replacements.

According to various sources on Wednesday evening, Newcastle have submitted an offer worth in the region of €70m for Tonali’s services, although Milan are holding out for a fee closer to €80m.

Since then, Tonali has reportedly given the green light over a lucrative set of personal terms, which could see him earn up to €8m per season including bonuses.

In the event that Tonali does swap San Siro for St James’ Park, Milan are reported by Sky to be interested in signing Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi.

Frattesi, also 23, is highly sought-after this summer, with Inter, Juventus and Roma also said to be interested in making a move to sign him in the coming months.

With Sassuolo having valued their player at €40m, and Milan set to receive up to double that amount from Tonali’s sale, financial obstacles ought not to be an issue for the Rossoneri.

Milan also continue to be linked with Chelsea duo Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic. The former, an experienced central-midfielder with time still on his side, is valued at around €25m by the West Londoners, although Milan would rather pay somewhere closer to €20m for the occasional England international.

Pulisic on the other hand, would be a replacement for Brahim Diaz, who has recently returned to parent club Real Madrid after a three-year stint on loan with Milan.

The US-international is out of the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge and his departure this summer is seen as an inevitability.
