Sky Sport Italia reports Milan have opened talks with Real Madrid to sign Alex Jimenez permanently but by changing the terms of the original deal with the Merengues.

Milan have an option to sign Jimenez permanently for €5m, but the La Liga giants can bring him back in 2025 or 2026 by activating a buy-back clause.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan want to sign the versatile Spanish full-back permanently this month but hope to pay less than the €5m agreed with Real Madrid last summer.

The report claims the Rossoneri have opened talks with the Merengues to rediscuss their agreement. Milan plan to make an offer below €5m but including performance-related bonuses that would allow Real Madrid to potentially earn more in the future.

It is not clear whether Mila also want to rediscuss the terms of Madrid’s buy-back clause.

Jimenez, 18, has recently made his senior Milan debut in a Coppa Italia game against Cagliari at San Siro. He collected his first Serie A appearance on Sunday, coming off the bench in the first half of Milan’s 3-0 win over Empoli, replacing Alessandro Florenzi.
