Sky Sport Italia reports Milan have held talks to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benezma.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, intermediary Ludovic Fattizzo and Benzema’s representatives spoke to Rossoneri boss Gennaro Gattuso and sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli at Milanello on Monday afternoon.

It would have been there that the 30-year-old’s camp gave their approval to a transfer, with the player ‘confident’ of freeing himself from Madrid, despite his ‘father-and-son’ relationship with President Florentino Perez.

The Sky journalist adds the Rossoneri are prepared to match his three-year contract worth €9m a season and offer him an extra 12 months.

However, Benzema’s agent Karim Djaziri responded to Di Marzio’s claim by tweeting a series of laughing emojis.
