Belgium star Romelu Lukaku will not play against Italy in the UEFA Nations League tomorrow.

Sky Sport Italia reports the former Inter striker, who moved back to Chelsea this summer for a reported €115m, has pulled out of the Red Devils’ squad ahead of the clash.

Italy and Belgium play for third place in the Nations League on Sunday, as the two teams lost the semi-finals of the competition earlier this week.

Italy’s run of 37 games unbeaten was stopped by Spain in a 2-1 defeat at San Siro, while Belgium threw away a 2-0 lead against France at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

The broadcaster has revealed the 28-year-old striker has left the Belgium retreat today and will miss the next match against the Azzurri.

Lukaku, capped 101 times by Belgium, has cored 68 times for the national team and it’s uncertain if he will be available for Chelsea in the upcoming game against Brentford on October 16.
