Sky Sport Italia journalist Peppe Di Stefano reports Milan will have circa €40m available to sign a new striker next season.
The Rossoneri are expected to sign a new centre forward for the 2024-25 campaign and according to several sources, Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee is among the primary names on their agenda.
Speaking about Milan’s transfer strategy over the summer, Sky Sport Italia reporter Peppe Di Stefano explained how much the Rossoneri could spend to sign a new centre-forward.
“They need to invest, and they need to invest in a striker like Zirkzee, a player that Milan can perhaps try to buy for a figure close to €40m, I think this could be the budget,” he said as quoted by SempreMilan.
“And then – it will depend on which striker arrives – Milan are thinking of keeping Luka Jovic because he is a player appreciated in the dressing room, who scores goals.”
Di Stefano confirmed that Olivier Giroud’s future at San Siro remains uncertain as the striker has only four months left in his contract.
Football Italia exclusively reported earlier this week that the 2018 France World Cup winner had received calls from MLS and UAE clubs.
It remains to be seen if €40m to sign Zirkzee will be enough as a fresh report from Gazzetta claimed the Rossoblu expect at least €75m for the Dutch striker, the same fee paid by Manchester United to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta last summer.
