Sky Sport Italia reports Vincenzo Italiano will pay the €1m termination clause to free himself from Spezia and join Fiorentina.

The broadcaster reports Italiano is on the verge of joining the Viola and will complete the move once the negotiations with Spezia have been finalised.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio adds that Italiano has agreed to pay the €1m termination clause to free himself from the Ligurians.

Meanwhile, the Viola have agreed to give one of their players to Spezia to allow Italiano’s staff to join him in Florence due to the lack of a release clause in the contracts.

If Spezia don’t accept the offer from Fiorentina, Italiano will move to Florence without any of his staff members from his time in Liguria.

Italiano helped Spezia to Serie A in 2019-20 and steered the Aquilotti to safety last term. He is now set to take over Fiorentina, as Gennaro Gattuso walked away from the job only weeks after having accepted a move to Florence.
