Sky Sport Italia reports Real Madrid won’t release an official statement after Spanish authorities requested four years and nine months in jail for their coach Carlo Ancelotti as the ‘focus is on tonight’s Champions League game.’

The Madrid Prosecutor has requested four years and nine months in jail for Italian coach Ancelotti who is accused of tax fraud during his first spell in the Spanish capital between 2013 and 2015.

The Merengues play in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg against RB Leipzig tonight and the club’s focus is entirely on the match, so they won’t release an official statement on Ancelotti, reports Sky Sport Italia’s correspondent in Madrid Giorgia Cenni.

The reporter added on Wednesday afternoon that ‘more news’ will come through the day, but Madrid are not expected to release any official update on the matter.

Ancelotti returned to the Bernabeu in 2021 and has recently extended his contract with the La Liga giants until June 2026.
