Sky Sport Italia are reporting that Roma have a deal in place with RB Leipzig to bring Angelino to the Stadio Olimpico on loan with an option to buy, and that the deal is now being formalised.
The former Manchester City left-back has been on loan with Galatasaray for the first portion of the 2023-24 season, and now Roma and Leipzig are just waiting for the Turkish giants to formally terminate Angelino’s loan deal before he is sent to the Stadio Olimpico.
According to reports earlier in the week, Roma’s deal for Angelino will be a loan with an option to buy for a figure of €5m at the end of the season.
Pagine Romaniste reported on Friday that Roma will be effectively, although unofficially obliged to buy Angelino permanently if they qualify for the 2024-25 edition of the Champions League. This has been described as a ‘gentleman’s agreement’.
Meanwhile, Roma are reportedly willing to send current fullback Zeki Celik to Galatasaray to soften the blow.
Galatasaray are also on the verge of selling right-back Sacha Boey to Bayern Munich in a reported €30m deal.
