The 41-year-old took over at the Mapei Stadium in July 2018 and his contract expires in June, and the former Benevento and Palermo coach has reportedly decided to move abroad.

Sky Sport Italia claims the coach born in Brescia has decided to join Shakhtar Donetsk and should only be formalities away from signing a contract with the Ukrainian giants.

Sassuolo continue to fight for a place in the Europa League in the next three games, but the coach should, according to the broadcaster, communicate his decision in the coming days.

The Neroverdi want to continue with De Zerbi at the helm and the relationship between the coach and the club is excellent.

But De Zerbi has reportedly decided to leave when his contract expires and will not remain in Serie A.
