Sinisa Mihajlovic’s position at Bologna is uncertain and Sky Sport Italia reports Claudio Ranieri has emerged as a candidate for the job.

The Rossoblu will enter a retreat ahead of the next match against Lazio and the broadcaster claims another negative result could prove costly for Mihajlovic.

The Serbian coach took over in January 2019 and has been through a lot since arriving in Bologna, as the 52-year-old also battled cancer during his time with the club.

The former Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Milan and Torino coach needs to turn things around quickly, as Bologna sit 11th in Serie A after six games, currently winless in three and arriving from a 4-2 defeat to Empoli.

Two weeks of international break follows the match against the Biancocelesti and it could provide a perfect time for the club to change coach.

Sky Sport Italia reports Ranieri, who is without a job after leaving Sampdoria this summer, tops the wish list at the Renato Dall’Ara.

Bologna have finished 10th, 12th and 12th in the last three seasons with Mihajlovic at the helm.
