Sky Sport Italia claims Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is open to joining Inter, but the Nerazzurri won’t invest more than €40m in the USMNT international.

Sky Sport Italia’s pundit Alessandro Sugoni said during Tuesday’s transfer show that Balogun has given his green light to join the Nerazzurri although his agent is not thought to have discussed the financial details of a possible transfer to the Stadio Meazza.

There are doubts regarding Arsenal’s asking price. Sky Sports UK claim the Gunners want almost €60m for the 22-year-old, while reports in Italy maintain their asking price is set at €40m.

That’s a fee Inter can afford, having planned to invest the same sum in Romelu Lukaku’s return.

Balogun has joined Arsenal for a pre-season tour in the USA, where he spoke about his future with CBS on Monday.

“I obviously went away, and the point was to prove I could play first-team football,” he said. “I feel I was able to do that.

“Me coming back is not really much of a situation where I think I need to try extra hard to prove something. I think it’s a decision that’s not really with me.

“Whatever happens [in the future], I’m cool with it.”

Inter have also targeted Atletico Madrid’s striker Alvaro Morata and are expected to meet his agent today.

The Colchoneros insist Morata has a €21m release clause, while Inter have reportedly made a verbal offer of €15m to sign the ex-Juventus striker.
