Sky Sport Italia claims Aston Villa want to negotiate new terms for Nicolò Zaniolo’s transfer from Galatasaray even if the Italy international has passed his medical.

The former Roma striker underwent medical examinations with the Premier League side on Thursday, but Aston Villa haven’t officially confirmed his purchase yet.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, Aston Villa want to negotiate new terms with Galatasaray.

Even if Zaniolo has passed his medical, the English club fear that the Italian’s previous two knee injuries would affect his fitness in the long run, making him more exposed to muscle injuries.

Therefore, they have contacted Galatasaray, hoping to find a new agreement with the club.

Zaniolo joined the Turkish side from Roma in February and has scored five goals in 11 appearances during his time at the club.

The 24-year-old made his senior Italy debut under Roberto Mancini in 2019, netting twice in 13 games with the Azzurri.
