According to SportMediaset, Inter defender Milan Skriniar will become the highest earner at the club following his contract extension with the Serie A giants.

The Slovakia international’s contract runs out in the summer, but Inter have been in talks for a new deal for several months.

Negotiations were put on hold in the summer when Skriniar emerged as a top transfer target for Ligue 1 giants PSG.

However, Inter rejected all offers from Paris, demanding at least €70-80m to sell their star defender.

According to Sportmediaset, Inter are confident of securing Skriniar’s signature in the coming weeks, making him the highest earner at the club. The Nerazzurri will offer Skriniar a €7m-a-year deal, according to the report.

Romelu Lukaku would still get more than the Slovakia international, but the Belgium international is on loan from Chelsea and it remains to be seen if he’ll be back to London in June following Thomas Tuchel’s sacking.

  1. Bravo? This is how you treat your best players, not by being constantly cheap, the way Milan are loosing their stars each summer.
