Milan Skriniar

Milan Skriniar insists his ‘future is at Inter’ and they’ll be back on top of the table next season. ‘People thought this term was going to be a catastrophe, but we won two trophies.’

The centre-back has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, but insists he intends to become an icon at San Siro.

“I’d love to do something similar to what Marek Hamsik did at Napoli,” he told Pravda in Slovakia.

“My future is at Inter, I have a contract and nothing has changed. There are transfer rumours every six months, but there’s nothing specific. I am very satisfied at Inter.”

Skriniar considers the 2021-22 campaign to be a success, even if they missed out on the Scudetto to arch-rivals Milan.

“The worst part was the first few days after the season, but I think we’ll get back to the top spot next term. Overall, it was a positive season. We beat Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League and faced Real Madrid in the group phase, confirming we can fight it out with anyone.”

The predictions were not reassuring after Antonio Conte walked away, followed by Achraf Hakimi to PSG and Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.

“We won two trophies, the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana. People talked about it as if this season was going to be a catastrophe because we lost two key players and the coach.

“Instead, Simone Inzaghi arrived, gave his identity to the squad and we proved that we are among the best in Italy and Europe.”

  1. As much as I’d like it for the both, I think Skriniar should be the next captain over Barella.
If Handanovic continues in a rotation system with Onana (which I highly doubt) and hands over the band, that is. But who am I? Let the new season come already!
