There are reportedly fears that Milan Skriniar’s time with Inter may have come to an abrupt end following his concerning back injury.

The 28-year-old Slovakian centre back was forced to miss the Nerazzurri’s last four consecutive league outings with a back injury, later confirmed to be nerve irritation due to disc compression.

Skriniar flew from Milan to Bordeaux on Monday and visited the CERS (Centre Européen de Rééducation du Sportif) in Capbreton, where he underwent a round of medical tests under the supervision of a PSG staff member.

L’Equipe details how Skriniar’s entourage are afraid that he won’t be able to return to action this season, meaning his time with Inter has already come to an end.

The Slovakian defender will leave the club on a free transfer in the summer to join PSG, who are also concerned about his injury.

Skriniar’s decision to undergo tests in the presence of a PSG staff member caused controversy, prompting the player to take to Instagram to explain the situation.

“I would like to tell you that I have always followed all the medical indications of Inter’s medical staff and their external specialists.

“Inter subjected me to a further specialist examination yesterday, which confirmed the diagnosis, and so as of today, in the presence of the medical staff, I have begun a new course of treatment prescribed by the club’s trusted external doctor.”
