Inter reportedly still need to improve their offer to extend Milan Skriniar’s contract, as not only Paris Saint-Germain are hovering, but Chelsea join the race too.

The defender is only tied to the San Siro giants until June 2023 and he has been in negotiations for a new deal for several months.

An agreement had been practically achieved over the summer for €4.5m plus bonuses, but that was before Inter turned down the over €50m offer from PSG, which would’ve also seen him receive €9m per season wages.

Director Beppe Marotta said repeatedly he was ‘optimistic’ that a deal would be reached before the January transfer window.

According to FCInterNews.it, the latest Inter proposal is €5.5m plus up to €500,000 in bonuses.

However, Skriniar is looking to match the wages that his teammates Lautaro Martinez and Marcelo Brozovic receive, circa €6.5m plus bonuses.

Meanwhile, PSG continue to pursue Skriniar openly in the media and wave their €9m including bonuses contract.

Now Chelsea have also joined the fray and in recent weeks seemingly approached Skriniar’s agents to discuss the situation.
