Milan Skriniar sees the Derby della Madonnina draw with Milan as ‘two points dropped’ for Inter. ‘We dominated and only brought home a point.’

It was a relatively even derby match at San Siro, as both sides had the chances to win and score more goals.

Serie A | Milan 1-1 Inter: Dramatic Derby della Madonnina

Hakan Calhanoglu insisted on taking the opening penalty against his former club, while Stefan de Vrij accidentally turned Sandro Tonali’s free kick into his own net.

Ciprian Tatarusanu was the unexpected hero with a save on the Lautaro Martinez spot-kick.

Nicolò Barella saw his effort cleared off the line and Alexis Saelemaekers hit the woodwork in the final minutes.

“Considering the chances we had, I see this as two points dropped. We created a lot of scoring opportunities and in my view we should’ve won,” Skriniar told DAZN.

Inter have failed to win a single fixture against the other big Serie A sides this season, and will face leaders Napoli after the break for international duty.

“We need to make the most of these head-to-head clashes, as once again we dominated Milan today and only brought home a point.

“We’re doing very well, are more organised and balanced, but need to be more clinical with our scoring opportunities.”

Milan and Napoli remain joint leaders in Serie A, as well as the only two sides to still be unbeaten in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

  1. Don’t feel bad, Inter dropped 2 points against Juve and 3 against Lazio……and you still have to face Napoli and Atalanta ……. just make sure you don’t drop points to Shaktar in champions League because week 6 is Real Madrid – Inter and Sheriff faces Shaktar
