Slovakia defender Milan Skriniar said he was ‘very scared’ when he saw his Inter teammate Christian Eriksen collapse on Saturday. ‘I’m glad he’s fine’.

The Slovakia international prepares to face Poland in their opener on Monday and watched the match between Denmark and Finland on Saturday with his teammates in the retreat.

Eriksen collapsed in the final minutes of the first half and was transferred to hospital. Soon after the Danish FA confirmed he was ‘awake and stable’ and Denmark CT Kasper Hjulmand said he was happy to see the playmaker smile.

Skriniar revealed he was ‘too scared’ when his Inter teammate went down at Parken Stadium.

“We saw it here with the lads and we were very scared,” Skriniar told SFZ, the Slovak FA.

“It was something terrible, I was too scared. I think the whole world of football was.

“I’m glad Christian is fine, at least the first reports he provided suggests it. I’m happy that it went like this in the end and I think he will be back on the pitch soon.”
