Milan Skriniar is reportedly moving closer to an Inter renewal, not least due to Jose Mourinho’s struggles at Manchester United.

The Slovakian defender has been in contact talks for some time, but the initial offer was rejected.

Skriniar’s agents are looking to boost his salary to around €3m per season, while the offer on the table is slightly below that.

According to calciomercato.com though a renewal is looking more and more likely, because interest from other big clubs has cooled.

Manchester City tried to sign Skriniar in January, but were told in no uncertain terms that he’s not for sale.

Their city rivals have also been linked, with reports Manchester United would be willing to pay around €60m.

However, Jose Mourinho’s situation at Old Trafford is becoming more precarious by the day, and it’s unlikely the Red Devils would sanction such a big transfer when a new manager could arrive and not want Skriniar.
