The Italian international was displaced by Kevin Trapp this season, making just three appearances in Ligue 1.
“When I came back from holiday and joined the group, I knew the club wanted to put me out,” Sirigu explained to L’Équipe.
“At the end of last season, because I was hearing rumours about a goalkeeper arriving in Paris, I asked Giovanni [Branchini, his agent] to make enquires with the club hierarchy.
“When Giovanni asked PSG they said ‘there’s no need to sign a goalkeeper’. So I was calm, but then I learned that the club had signed a goalkeeper…”
Sirigu then discussed his growing frustration as the French champions refused to give him any playing time.
“We had a big lead in the League, with matches every three days. If I wasn’t even able to face Troyes on a Saturday at 5pm…
“That was even as the whole team was changed, apart from the goalkeeper.
“I don’t want to go through another year like this, but I still have a two-year contract. Today I still feel like a PSG player.”
The goalkeeper also spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport, and ruled out a move to Juventus.
“Buffon remains in great form, and I love it,” Sirigu pointed-out.
“Perhaps I'll be retiring before he does. Anyway, I wouldn't take a No. 2 spot in another club, I'd rather stay at PSG. But in football you never know.”
