Diego Simeone has decided who he is backing in the Serie A title race this season out of Inter, Milan, Napoli and Juventus.

The Italian topflight has the most exciting title race in Europe this season, with the top four teams separated by only seven points with nine games remaining. There is only three points between Milan, Napoli and Inter, three teams who all are incredibly hungry for the Scudetto.

Speaking to Sky ahead of Atletico Madrid’s Champions League clash against Manchester United, Simeone first discussed if Joao Felix and Cristiano Ronaldo have anything in common.

“It wouldn’t be good to compare him to Ronaldo, he is growing and I hope he will have a great match tomorrow.”

The Argentinian coach then revealed which team he’s backing in the Serie A title race this season.

“There’s a good challenge for the Scudetto, Juve won’t give up and there’s also Inter, Milan and Napoli, but it would be great to see another title for Inter.”

Simeone spent six years of his playing career in Italy, spending two years with Inter before a four-year spell in Rome with Lazio. He won a Scudetto, a Coppa Italia, a Supercoppa Italiana, a UEFA Super Cup and the UEFA Cup during his time in the Italian peninsula.

  1. Don’t worry, the refs are doing the best they can. Milan should have been 10 points ahead by now, but are only a point ahead. So don’t lose hope @interFan75

  2. @interFan75 As a Milan fan I can tell you that it’s not over by a long shot! You guys are still in it big time, as well as Napoli and Juve.

27-30 pts up for grabs still with Milan’s Achilles heel being teams in the bottom half of the table. That isn’t good for Milan and being the league’s 3rd youngest team doesn’t help. Inter has the experience and know how of defending champions to get over the line.

Napoli can do it on paper and for how they play, but history says otherwise. Juve are chasing hard, in form and clearly know how to win from these positions so are a definite threat. I feared they would be in this position many weeks ago and they are now firmly in the fight.

So a couple factors could come into play and I anticipate some twists and turns still.

    Forza Milan!
