Simeone scored his 50th and 51st goal in Italy against the Granata yesterday, to help the Rossoblu pick up three points in a 3-2 win on the road.

The Argentine had returned from two wins with the national squad and the 25-year-old spoke Olé about the feat.

“I’m happy, it’s a beautiful moment. Scoring 50 goals after being in the national team gives me strength to do even more and it motivates me to give my all,” he said.

“I feel that I’m on the right path.”

Simeone wanted to dedicate the 50th goal to his mother, but his teammates were too quick to embrace him.

“The first goal was for my mother. I had told her that if I would score, the goal would have been for her. But then we all hugged and there was no way out to make any gesture.

“But she knows it was for her.”

Simeone scored 12 goals in Serie A last term and has already bagged three in four games in 2020-21.

“I don’t want to set limits or targets. I focus on doing my best. That’s what the coach wants me to do and I will do so."
