Earlier this week, Nerazzurri vice-president Javier Zanetti tipped Simeone for a return to San Siro at some point and, during an interview with Marca, the Argentine said he could see himself in Italy’s top flight.

“My future? I am still a young Coach and I can say I could coach in various Leagues,” the 46-year-old commented.

“I don’t hide that Serie A and the Premier League are two competitions that interest me.”

Simeone has recently been linked with the Argentina national team job, in addition to his current role at the Rojiblancos.

“I think a lot of Coaches want to take on this double role, but often it isn’t possible because of contracts with their respective clubs.”
