Injury problems are piling up for Napoli ahead of their Champions League quarter-final against Milan, as while Victor Osimhen is hoping to recover, while Giovanni Simeone pulled up with a thigh issue today.

The first leg of the European showdown is at San Siro on Wednesday evening, just days after the Rossoneri won their Serie A encounter 4-0 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Osimhen was out of that game after picking up a muscular injury on international duty with Nigeria and remains in doubt for the first leg of the Champions League tie.

Simeone was expected to therefore start on Wednesday and he was initially rested against Lecce, but limped off just 17 minutes after coming off the bench.

Cholito pulled up clutching the area of the thigh just behind his right knee, so this is likely to be a flexor issue.

It remains to be seen if Simeone will recover in time to participate in the match against Milan, or if Osimhen is fit enough to start.

Giacomo Raspadori is the only other alternative upfront.
