Giovanni Simeone admits Fiorentina have a lot of work to do after today’s defeat at Chievo.

The forward, signed from Genoa in the summer, opened the scoring early on for the Viola but they were beaten by Lucas Castro’s double for the hosts.

“We still need to work a lot,” Simeone admitted post-match at the Bentegodi.

“That gives me strength, because the team knows it needs to improve and knows what it needs to do.

“We had different chances to finish the match off, then we relaxed and Chievo scored.

“After Castro’s second we tried to get the equaliser but we didn’t manage it.”

Simone insisted that Stefano Pioli’s formation does not leave him feeling isolated up front despite Fiorentina’s slow start to the new campaign.

“As I said before, we need to improve. My teammates are trying to give me good service, I don’t feel isolated in attack.”
