Hellas Verona goalkeeper Marco Silvestri has completed his transfer to Udinese, and will be replaced by Benevento’s Lorenzo Montipò.

The news was confirmed on the official Udinese TV channel after he underwent a medical and signed the three-year contract.

It’s believed the Friulani paid circa €2.3m plus up to another €0.5m in add-ons to secure Silvestri.

The 30-year-old had been at the Stadio Bentegodi since 2017, when leaving Leeds United.

In turn, Verona have a deal with Benevento to replace Silvestri with Montipò and both shot-stoppers had their medicals over the last few days.

Udinese needed to find a new goalkeeper after selling Juan Musso to Atalanta for a transfer fee of €20m.
