Palermo defender Matias Silvestre has told Cesare Prandelli he's available for the Azzurri. “If Italy should call me before Argentina…”

The former Catania man hopes to be the latest ‘Oriundo' to be called up to the Nazionale after the likes of Amauri, Thiago Motta and Cristian Ledesma.

“I always hope my name can sooner or later be included in an international squad,” he told Mediagol.it.

“I'll also admit that if Italy should call me before Argentina, then I'd certainly give it some thought. However, I don't think there's much chance of that at the moment.

“I am increasingly more convinced I've made the right decision in joining Palermo and believed that even at the start of the season, when things weren't going well.

“The games against Milan and Roma will let us know a great deal about our objectives.”
