Sky Sport pundits Fabio Capello, Paolo Di Canio and Beppe Bergomi praised Fikayo Tomori and discussed whether the Chelsea loanee should become a regular Milan starter.

Tomori started in Milan’s 2-1 win over Roma in place of the Rossoneri Capitan and his performance did not only delight Milan fans.

“As a coach, I always wanted fast defenders. Milan have always had strong defensive departments. Baresi, Costacurta, Maldini, even Tassotti. If you have a pacey defender, you’re lucky. Tomori played a great game. The recovery on Borja Mayoral in the first half was impressive,” said Fabio Capello.

Juventus stepped up when they signed Barzagli. He was faster than Bonucci and Chiellini, he made the difference. That’s my idea,” the former coach continued.

Former Lazio and West Ham striker Paolo Di Canio was also full of praise for the Chelsea loanee.

“I noticed his concentration and his aggressivity. He was never caught out of position. He was determined to defend well. He let his teammates breathe when he cleared the area. I think they have the feeling he is confortable in in one vs. one situations as he can read the game well."

So, has Romagnoli lost his place in Milan’s starting XI?

“This can only be a moment. Maybe it’s not a definitive choice,” argued Bergomi.

“Milan conceded a few goals lately and Pioli decided to rest Romagnoli. Now we’ll see what happens. Surely, it was an important choice.”
