Bologna have reportedly accepted a conditional obligation to buy clause in Eldor Shomurodov’s loan move, which opens the door for Roma to sign Wolves target Andrea Belotti.

The Giallorossi have already agreed terms with Belotti, who is a free agent after leaving Torino, but cannot sign him until they have first released another of their strikers.

That will be Shomurodov, who is in advanced negotiations with Bologna for a loan with option to buy for €10m.

The talks had stalled over details, but the Corriere di Bologna newspaper maintains there has been a breakthrough with the Rossoblu accepting a conditional obligation to buy.

That will be based on the performance of the striker, including the number of goals scored and how many starts he receives in the team.

Once Shomurodov has completed the transfer to Bologna, then Roma can sign Belotti, hoping of course that he holds on by turning down the latest offer of a contract from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers worth €3.5m net per season.

That is more than Roma are offering, but Il Gallo would prefer to remain in Serie A.
