Whilst Milan are not planning to dismiss Stefano Pioli, they are keeping their options open and have reportedly been offered the chance to hire Andriy Shevchenko.

Pressure is continuing to mount on Pioli after an incredibly disappointing run of results that’s seen the Rossoneri win just two of their last eight matches across all competitions. Their 3-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund leaves them bottom of their Champions League group, unlikely to progress.

Faith is starting to wane in Pioli from supporters, but the Milan management have decided to stick by the coach who guided them to the Scudetto less than two years ago. He is expected to start turning things around soon, however.

As reported by Libero via TMW, Shevchenko is still out of work after leaving Genoa last year and was recently proposed to Milan’s management as a possible replacement for Pioli, willing to sign a contract until the end of the season.

The club are not considering the idea at this stage and would seemingly prefer to promote Primavera coach Ignazio Abate should they ultimately decide to dismiss Pioli.
